wow what a big change

StephenRC45 » Mon Mar 08, 2004 10:24 pm

Ok, my tyga pipes arrived today and i have spent the day playing carb tuning.. fun fun fun. With the stock pipes i was running 132m/j. I fitted the tyga pipes and the bike wouldnt rev passed 10,000rpm. so i went up 2 sizes to 136, alittle better. Im now at 144 but its still not perfect. The bike wont rev out fully but if you ease off the throttle when flat out it picks up the last 1000rpm. This must still be weak so I'm looking at maybe closer to a 150 main jet?
This seems a huge change from 132 to 150 just for changing pipes. Does everyone agree that im heading the right way?
The spec of the bike is its an MC18 R5K, wire splice, moded air box, stock filter, tyga pipes.
I have the use of our dyno on wednesday but i woudl really like to get the bike running something like before i spend the day fine tuning it at work.

Cheers Stephen
