Big advocate of standard sized tyres, and I doubt it is "just you". The only bike I've ever ridden that felt good on over-sized tyres was StephenRC45's F3, and that's only because (a) it runs HRC rims, (b) the tyres, although over-size, were hand cut slicks, and (c) the suspension is also HRC and set up properly!
