New to site....

Hi guys,

I've been looking at this site for a while now. I have an NS400, which I am rebuilding, but it's not really a long term proposition as a road bike (spares etc). I now want to take the plunge and get an NSR, which I've always liked. Although I really like the stock bikes, I want to do the whole Tyga bodywork/pipes, RS forks, authentic GP250 race paint-job type thing, and aiming for about 65hp for a road bike.

My question is - what is the best starting point? I like the idea of a dry clutch, but NSR's are a bit unusual here in Aus, and the R models are a bit easier to find. Does it make much difference as a starting point, or is it worth holding out for an SE/SP model? I'm mainly concerned with engine differences (easier mods/power gains/HRC part suitability), as I plan on changing most of the suspension components anyway.

Keen to hear your thoughts?

Thanks

Scott
