New NSR250 MC21 Owner needs help

R1ck » Sun May 04, 2008 1:55 am

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased a 1990 MC21 in pieces so am rebuilding it since I have to re-assemble it anyways. What I am currently working on is rebuilding the engine. I have most of the parts now and need to fix some unexpected things. Crying or Very sad

When I pulled the cylinders off I discovered that it had been running real lean and now am sending them in to get stripped, replated and diamond honed. The person I purchased the bike from put Tyga side by side pipes and silencers on it but did not re-jet the carbs, thus running lean.

I am very familiar with 2 strokes since I he ridden dirtbikes for years.

Can anyone advise me as to what jetting to run? I have read 150 mains and 45 slow jet but I will be running on the street and with the oil pump with HRC reed stuffers and Carbon fiber reeds.

Thanks
