I can tell you that the MC18 rear shock dimensions differ significantly from the MC21/MC28 units, and that I've also never heard of anyone trying to fit (let alone successfully fitting) a later shock to an '18!

I have some HRC F3 diagrams for new linkage plates however, that will raise the standard setup a little, and will post them on the Messageboard this evening if I can find them!

The NC30 shock is extremely similar to the MC28, but with a harder spring/damping I believe (due to the VFR's unsprung weight) but I have not personally tried to fit one to an NSR.

I would've thought it would be a perfect excuse for Charles to get out into the garage and measure his NC30 shock against his MC21 road-bike AND his MC28 race-bike shocks, allowing you to then compare the measurements to your MC18! Laughing
