I would've thought that for someone considering a career in motorcycle engineering, and owning a classic (i.e. 20+ year old) 2-stroke, the idea of trying to repair parts that are long discontinued and most likely unavailable (or at least disassembling and inspecting the components) would've been rather appealing?
