Okay, I'm in the middle of replacing the seal. Can someone tell me (quickly!) whether the shaft, upon install, just gets pushed back up into the housing containing the seal, or is it supposed to screw in somehow? It has threads on the end but it doesn't seem to grab anything, and I have visions of it just falling down into the transmission. Maybe it mates with gear in transmisson and that holds it in place? please let me know ASAP before I do something I'll regret!
