; The mad racing at Oliver's Mount in Scarborough etc. It all just seems a bit tamer down here really (in the South West) and the roads are nowhere near as good (poor visibility in most places as the roads tend to be lower than the surrounding fields, wheras 'oop north' it's the other way round generally).
I must say though that it's a bit warmer generally down here (though it looks great in the pic's - the bikes do too BTW
), which makes all-year riding more comfortable. But it's done nothing but rain this summer it seems 
, and statistically the North East is far, far drier than the South West. Don't get me wrong: living in the South West certainly has some charms, bit biking is definitely second best down here for me .
