Also have a think about how you hold the bike, if you're not really loose on the bars when you're hard on the power the shake is going to be 1000 times worse but any time you're hard on the power over bumps and leaned over it's likely to get a bit flighty.
I'd rather the odd lock to lock shake than the woolly detached feeling you get with a steering damper though. I'm too much of a girl on the road to really get much happening and on the track you tend to know it's coming (Deer Leap at Oulton - lockstop to lockstop and back every single time) so it's easier to just relax and let it do it's thing.
