Cant recall rider, but the bike was the NR500. Had external springs leading the fork legs, as well leading calipers.

See above... Seems the carbon fiber forks had a good amount of flex to them making the bike hard to ride
If it was the NR500 it was debuted at the 1979 British gp by Mick Grant and Takazumi Katayama. But thats two riders!
