I think the worse thing i ever did wasnt on a motorbike but was on a push bike.... Picture this.
Im about 14 years old on what was a mountain bike and its raining. Me and a freind are heading to his house to we set off. As its raining i pull my hood up and take chase after him. We are going down this long hill and are both peddling for all we'er worth. Its raining so hard i duck my head to keep the rain out of my eyes. Im looking down at the double yellow lines, using them to see where im going (wheels between them)...
peddle peddle... peddle pedddle.... smack! some fool has packed a car on double yellows! I hit the car so hard i caused £600 worth of damage to its boot and shorted my bike my and inch. After gettin to my feet... and not feeling so good i remounted my steed and tryed to peddle off( one cant be caught by the crime). Unfortanatly the wheels were in no shape (the front for sure) to be ridden and me will blood pissing everywhere once again fell off. I woke up in hospital..... The lesson learned from this... never park anything you love on doubble yellows. You never know when fool is gonna run into it.
The second worse things was on my DT125. I had just got it and was itching to ride. One small prob. No front caliper. This i thought wasnt a prob as there was a very good rear brake... so i took it up the road and back down. Came shooting into my drive... this is where it should be know i'd never riden a jap bike only CCMs in mx where the gears and brakes are the other way around. heading towards the fromt of the conservatry i grab the front bake that isnt there... i then make for the rear brake... which is now the gear lever! I totaled the front of the house and most of the front garden ending up sat in the pond with the bike almost wedged in the letter box. I didnt do that again!
