i've got a couple.
when i worra lad i used to borrow a bike from the shop that i did my paperround from, twas a big oldy worldy steel thing with a rattly front mudguard, now this mudguard used to be my nemesis as it used to rattle like a bast**d and i cant stand rattles this was easily sorted with a quick boot while i was delivering my next paper. well one day i was not in a very good mood its raining its january and i am delivering papers flying down a hill with rain stinging my face with this god damn mudguard rattling away so though i would give it a kick like i do....and put my foot straight through the spokes behind the forks which fired me over the bars i landed on my face both lips busted with a heavy bag of papers in the middle of my back, i dragged the lot into someones front garden, including the bike with one fork leg bent the wrong way left them there and went home...surprisingly they didnt say anything to me the next day .
and my motorbike one.......probably had my 125 licence about 2 weeks thought i would go and find a few nice windy lanes....found some, so i am giving it some on the old LC i go flying around a sweepy right hander, which turns into a much tighter right hander....nowerdays i would tweek the bars and lean into it......then i did what every fledling biker would do SLAM MY BRAKES ON so i go straight accross the road onto a gravel driveway of a massive posh house with electric gates and huge bolders lining the driveway, i skid all the way accross the drive hit one of the bolders head on, it flips me through a full somersault landing on my back in some bushes. i picked myself up and was surprised to find all limbs still attatched and working but no bike, i looked around for a bit thinking maybe i was knocjked out and someone has knicked it (obviously a bit dazed thank the lord for Shoei) i look a bit closer at the bushes..bit closer..bit closer and the bike is about 10meters furthur on than i was, i dragged it out and thought apart from the coolant pooring out looks ok, then i notice the smashed dash, and the forks are the bentest (good word) that still to this day i have seen, and the massive ding in the wheel. i learnt the dynamics of cornering after this incident.....funny though
