Its not a solanoid. You need to unplug the throttle postion sensor. Then turn the ignition on. The connector on an MC18 is under the right hand rear seat unit just under the riders seat. Its clipped to the sub frame.

Once the ignition is on the power valves will move to the set postion. Turn the ignition off, set the power valves then reconnect the TPS.
