don't think by adding the missing throttle cable would affect the oil pump cable, when i had a problem with the bike starting and keeping revs my pulser coils were dirty, cleaned them up and it was all ok

are you cleaning up the plugs after you inspect them? some carb cleaner and a brass wire brush does wonders

do a search for pulser coils and you should be able to find the link to what the coils look like
