RS 250 fork tubes qustions

schwarzy930 » Mon Feb 16, 2009 1:08 am

Hey , Guys , I have a set of RS250 ( suppose to be 2003 or newer units) , the comp. adjusters are in front on lower legs. They say "NXA1-L" and "R" on the lower inners. No manufacturing stamp of any kind? Are they made by Showa? , Also , I'd like to have the ''blue-anodized-top'' fittings re-anodized. Does anyone know , Could a guy just unscrew them and send them off, or would I be opening a "Jack-in-the Box"? I mean , Does the top blue fittings , are connected to another parts internally , besides the fact they will be under spring pressure? Lastly , If I do all that , I think I should change out the fork oil , just for good measure. What wt. oil and how much? Oh , and these are to be fitted on a NSR for street bike usage, not racing. thanks ; guy's ; dave ps , oh , Twisted Evil and any particular ''brand'' of oil for these really nice babies?
