Rebuilt my MC21SP can't keep it running

jbuffa » Mon Apr 06, 2009 6:09 pm

I've just completed a rebuild of my MC21SP. New crank, seals, rings,...ect and several parts along the way that I noticed needed replacing(thank you Tyga). Bike had been sitting for years and not running when I purchased it. I'm running premix 30:1 A747. When I started it for the first time, I kept the reves below 5000 to try and get it to operating temp, but it bogged down after 1min. Smoking pretty bad, but it was the initial start up so I wasn't too concerned. Took out the plugs dried them off waited a bit and started it again with the same results. Also noticed a trail off gas/oil seeping from the exhaust manifold. My feeling was it just needed to run, so the next time I started it jumped on and it was running like a normal two stroke, not completely cleared up but not warmed up either. I rode for about 2min came to a stop light and waited about 1min. When I put it in first to go, same thing bogged out. The plugs have no color yet, it hasn't run long enough, but they are always pretty wet. Can anyone give me a direction I should go to cure this problem? I also want to thank everyone who contributes on this forum. I've used it as a main resource in rebuilding my bike.

Joseph
