Well i'm a bit closer to realizing my overheating hypothesis. I had a few minutes spare just before so I whipped off the water pump cover ..
Strange/worst bit is there is no sign of the blade in the housing so somebody has known about it before, removed it and ignored it .. Temp gauges on both my cylinders from now on. Next step is pulling the carbs and cleaning them out and checking the jetting on them, which i've done before and am 99% sure is factory.
