I fail to see your point, the reason you run a 4 stroke crank steadily for a long time is the main and bigend bearings are flat pieces of metal held apart by a film of oil. They aren't flat enough or a good enough fit against each other from new.
This is not true of a two stroke, they're all ball bearings.
If the barrels and/or rings are new as well you'll do more damage than good keeping the revs down, especially if you're trying to get up the Mountain or Coppice.
