Gurgling on steady throttle

jeff, OH » Tue Jun 30, 2009 11:52 am

Out for another ride yesterday ("Uhm, I have to go run some errands..."). Bike still running well. Running w/o airbox lid on, so pretty noisy (I mean: "Has more character"). Reading around on this site has me curious about altering the airbox lid and putting it back on. Kind of like trying to research new tires: everyone has their favorites and good reasons for them. Anyhow, my question is about a "gurgling" sound when at steady throttle, regardless of RPM's. Sounds like a two-stroke on acceleration and decel, but has that funny gurgle. Pilot jet issue? Sorry, don't know how else to describe the sound. Its not wet, and the bike doesn't seem to suffer. Not "jumpy" nor lagging. May go away when I put the (modded) airbox back on. Thoughts?
TIA
