Seizure questions/discussion

craigsutton » Wed Aug 05, 2009 6:22 pm

Some of you may have read my track day story where I had fun all day going faster and faster until I was really honking along in top gear on the straights, pushing as far as I dare. Then near the end of the day the engine seized on me (twice Embarassed ) at the end of the 1750 foot straight. The spark plugs don't look like I was running lean (I will post pics asap) and have started the tear down.

I am running Castor 927 oil at a 40:1 ratio. Maybe I should switch to something better? More oil in the mix? If I have to go through this now at the beginning I don't mind - I love running the bike and would like to do that for a long time, so if I have to go through this engine rebuild to learn to do it the correct way so be it.

I'll continue to post notes and photos during the tear down process. Stay tuned. Please help me set this bike up so I'm not seizing it every time I run down a straightaway at full bore!

Thanks for any help/advice.

Craig
