I have just taken the carbs apart and the needles all look fine. The jets are clean and un-blocked. Just a question about the float height though. When the carby is resting at 90 degrees there is alot of play before the needle even moves. I'm not sure if I am missing a spring somewhere or if the little needle thingys are supposed to just hang there freely.

The needle has a loop on top of it that hangs on the float. There is about 2mm of play when it hangs there. The way it looks now it doesn't matter if it's set to 13mm or 15mm (current), the actual needle sits at the same height and doesn't move.

After looking at the parts manual, the valve set float 3 shows 2 items. I am guessing this is the needle and possibly a spring? Can someone just verify there is meant to be a spring as well.

I just can't believe that I am missing bits in there!!
