I have about 100 base gaskets for my RS250. All measured and noted so I can set my deck height to what I want based on the cylinder (which also gets measured).

I would defenitly not skimp on a base gasket. it's a much higher density material than a normal standard paper gasket material. Also has some additional sealent material in some important areas.

if your going to use it, make sure you just don't measure before assembly. Pull it apart after proper torque and measure what the crush was, then that will give you a good idea what your final desk height will be. Oh and once you get the crush measured, throw that out and make another set and go from there.
