Normaly the hose comming out of the shock body is just a 0 deg banjo bolted directly to the body.

With the right lenth hose and the bango facing right I've never had any problem fitting any after market shock to an NSR with the res' in the OE position.

The HRC F3 shock has the banjo the other way around but this was designed to have the res' mouted on the sub frame. Something youve found cant really be done on a road NSR.

If he sold you a shock to fit your bike then fit it should.
