Anyway, I've got a little bit of a problem with my MC16...basically when it reaches exactly 8k rpm, it just stops pulling and the rev counter does a mad dance between 0 and 8k.
To complicate things, this doesn't happen all of the time, or sometimes it happens at the beginning of the ride and then goes away after about 10-15 miles.
This has been happening for a few months, but I haven't really done anything to it yet as I don't know where to start, since it doesn't happen on every ride.
I've replaced the battery, spark plugs and caps.
Am I right in saying that 8k rpm is one of the points where the power-valves are fully opened? Is it just coincidence or could my problem somehow be linked to them?
Or...does this sound like it could be the infamous cdi problem?
