MC21 300

Well its all re-assembled now since i cured the airleak on the crankcase join (thankyou oh mighty Threebond), i started it up yesterday and it didn't take many kicks before it burst into life with a bit of choke fiddling which was confusing seeing as i expected the cross leaking center crank seal to make starting difficult - weirrrrd.

Anyroad, today i actually took it for a run around the valley and after maybe 15 minutes of strict steadiness my jedi discipline waned and i decided to see how it pulled through 2nd and 3rd on wide open throttle (it had been running really nicely at lower revs and partial throttle). Just one word for it really; FAST. I've not ridden it on WOT for over 2 years and i'd forgotten just how much thrust it creates when it gets above 9000 revs in the lower gears! Marvellous sound, gearbox felt nice, good vibes all round.

I didn't plug chop it but i did pull the sparkplugs out afterwards anyway to have a look and i'd call the results 'worryingly light shade of brown' on the lower cylinder and 'slightly darker but still too lean looking' on the upper cylinder. That's on 30:1 premix with 198 and 195 mains. So i shall go bigger and see what difference is made.
