Hi guys...
Hello I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Alain, I'm from sunny South Africa. My interests are music, motor racing and technology.
Right so here goes:
I went to view an MC21 this morning. The bike is in a dire state but thats ok since it will be a project. The guy heat seized the engine about a month ago and has promptly lost interest. The bike seems to be an SP since it has a dry clutch, is this right?
Then, the electrics all seem fine but the ignition key doesn't seem to be a honda key, it looks like a normal plain jane key, is this right?
Then, the radiator. It's mashed guys. A very large portion of the fins on the front are squashed. This is fine but I need to know if I can have one made OR if an aftermarket alternative is available.
The guy wants R8000 for it which is about GBP 657 (english pounds) in its current state. Ok so given, the bike is in dire need of serious help. The engine doesn't run and the colour scheme is naf to say the least (no offence to repsol colour lovers) so all I'd like to know IS whether I'm better off sourcing a running better looked after machine or if (since it's a project bike) I should go ahead and pay the man.
If it's ok, please read the summary below of my questions:
1) Does the dry clutch make it an SP MC21?
2) No Honda key, only normal key. Is this ok? Are original Honda ignitions
available?
3) The radiator. What do I do there? Cuz it's not usable...
4) What do you think about the price?
5) Before I commit to buying, is there anything I should look for?
Then finally guys, please let me know how I can attach the pics I took so you can all see what it looks like. All and any of your thoughts on if you think I should go for it will be massively appreciated.
