Not if it's well set up. It sounds like he's trying to keep it clear for the run. (Especially when you listen to how rough it is in the other video!)
Steve only blips them during warmup and as he shuts the throttle off at 12000rpm after a run to keep the pistons/bores well lubed.
He canes the crap out of mine because we think it's funny!
