It won't (shouldn't) hurt it. It'll get worse (a lot worse) on the track and if it doesn't you're not trying hard enough!
Andy's bike on the GT Dyno way back was funny, IIRC that was when the crank seals were on the way out and we all thought (hoped) it was something else. Steve just made sure (very very sure) it was clear.
