I am fairly sure (note, not 100%) that there's a CBR600 shock that is of similar length to the MC18, and I think you can get remote a reservoir version too.

A shock that is 20mm taller won't hurt, even with the HRC link plates. That would pretty much be the equivalent of the ride-height adjuster on the HRC shock fully wound out.
