So I don’t know if anyone else has had the problem trying to refit there air box to the carbs. I would dread taking the carbs off because it would take me a good half our of cursing to get the airbox back on but I finally found the solution, we at least for me.
I used a heat gun, electric type, to heat the bits that slide over the carbs and are then clamped onto. This makes them a little more malleable because it’s not the warmest in NZ so they are as hard as a rock when cold. Once heated I jam a roll of thread tape in the hole were the carb should go. I only use the roll of thread tape coz it’s that perfect size other things will work; it needs to be a little larger than the carbs. Once the rubber has hardened again I pull the rolls of thread tape out and quickly fit the air box back on. Take like 5sec to fit the box, slips right over the carbs first time, no folding the rubber and fighting it.
Hope this helps others coz I was at wits end with the air box.
