Hello, to all

This just another new NSR fan. I just acquired an '92 SE and, as an ex-YPVS, I can only confirm that this IS the bike.

For the statistics, it is a prospec '92 SE red-white with wet clutch, or maybe an R model with adjustable suspensions and SE bodywork... In any case, I can not be more delighted with the bike.

So, the first thing I did when spotted the bike was become a member of this great community. Then, buy the bike, test it and get new tyres. I've run it for about 200 km and thought, well if this is a restricted bike, how will it be when unrestricted? It pulls real hard in every gear. However, it would not rev higher than 11k or accelerate above 180 kph. The revving is stopped suddenly at 11k in any gear.

Yesterday I went through the wire splice routine as described in this site (both spices). Almost burnt all wire insulation with the heat! With the bike stopped tested that all gears would work so there I went.

Now, this is my personal feeling. I can not be measure performance, but it now feels as if there is less torque in the midrange. It now goes above 180 kph but keeps stalling at 11k in 5th. My memory tells me that before splicing the wires, the engine was easier on reaching top rpms in 6th. Could this be true or is it my own impression?

In any case, great bike, great site. As a beginner in the NSR world I hope one day I can make a contribution to it.

By the way, are the gearboxes cluncky or is it only mine? It looks like it needs clutch cable adjustment and chain tensioning.

Here's a pic. Not mint, but very good state, only minor local scratches here and there.
