I've lost the link I got(from bandit I think) to a place at Narangaba in Qld that re plates barrels.

From memory the price was between $250-$350.

Eitherway $350 for re plating and $550 for a top end kit certainly beats the later.

It's entirely your call with what you want to do, I'm just offering a suggestion and if it were me, I'd get them re plated.
