Large carbs on the motors we have tested on the dyno generally lose you bottom-end and mid-range, and rarely produce more power than the OEM 32mm items, although can give additional over-rev if the motor is capable of making power that high up the rev range.

The PGM-II, PGM-III, and PGM-IV all have an ignition curve that expects the air correctors to be in place, and triggers the solenoids for best performance. You will likely run rather rich at various throttle openings/RPM without the solenoids... which is one of the problems we've encountered with the PJ/PWK equipped bikes with non-F-III ignitions.
