There are some really nice digital speedo's that the guys in Japan use on their MC28's, but I dare say they aren't cheap!
The usual course of action is to simply fit a bicycle speedo when using an HRC card.
I'm not sure if the units the Japanese guys are using are for bicycles or some kind of trick lap-timers for cars (thinking about how they like to heavily modify Skylines and the like), you'll need to do some research on the Japanese sites or find a good speed-shop like Ripspeed or similar that may be able to give you some advice.
In the mean time, I'll see if I can dig out some pictures I have of them fitted to some MC28's. I know I have a real nice picture somewhere of a unit with a trick neon blue display!
Maybe try dropping Jamie Wheeler a line. He has an MC28 and so do a number of his friends. One of them is bound to know what is the latest trick part to use!
