The trick is to get the layers correct. You only really want a maximum of 2 layers, 3 at most, as even though the vinyl is thin, it soon builds up. I;ve started with an unexpected background colour for some decals before, just so I can "cut out" a higher level rather than add yet another layer!
There are some pics in Si's build thread in the Members area of some decals I cut for him, and I did a full Pepsi TYGA RGV kit for one of the guys on rgv250.co.uk too. That was a pig to do, as the Pepsi logos were so big! Stripes are easy, but logos can get complicated. The RGV needed two different Michelin Men as I recall, as one needed to be on a black/carbon background, and one on a white background, and Si's AFAM logos were multi-layer, but I think came out OK.
Drawing them is the easy part, scaling them to absolutely the correct size and layering them is a bit of a bugger! I'm looking into printing decals at the moment, but I'm away at the moment so no new progress lately.
