upon examination of my shock the preload adjustment locking nuts will not thread off the end of the body of the shock to release the spring. No, your not dull. I am. Must be the other end. Must have something to do with the two little plastic thingys. Try this: compress the spring with the preload nuts. Zip tie it compressed. Release the preload nuts. Then work at the plastis thingys.

Anyone else have this knowledge?
