Was driving past the bike wreckers around the corner from work the other day with the bloke i work with. He wanted to stop and have a look for a carby for his z250. So we pulled up and went in for a look. He got his carby and I left with a nsr150sp, $375, had been stolen and recovered by the police, had no fairings, 8000km on the clock but in relatively good condition otherwise. Grabbed the work trailer picked it up and took it home.
Got home and started to look it over. No compliance plate and the engine number had been ground off. Bit of a set back since i was planning on registering it. Managed to find a frame with compliance plate at another wreckers for $395 so no problem there, just more work than i was hoping and need to sort out getting an engine number stamped.
So now i have a project on my hands. Totally rebuilding it. Pretty daunting since ive done nothing like this before. I'm hoping you guys will be able to help me as i'm sure i'll have lots of stupid questions.
