Decided to try and start it up. Drain and changed all the fluids. Bought a battery, whacked it in, turned the ignition on and gave it a kick. Nothing. 5 - 6 kicks later still nothing except for fuel running out the carby drain pipe and out the air intake on the carby. First stupid question. Is that normal? I pulled the bottom of the carby to check if the float was stuck but it seemed fine.
So anyway, i turned the tap off till it stopped dripping and figured i'd check the plug. It didnt look too bad so while i had it off i figured id check if it would spark. Gave it a kick and no spark. Spent hours looking for a wiring diagram. Best i could find was a nsr150rr. Close enough. Noticed there was supposed to be 5 cables coming from the cover where the magneto is but i only had three. Pulled the cover off and the pulse generator was missing, plus they'd snapped a bolt head off when they removed it. Leaving the rest of the bolt in the cover. Second stupid question. Do you buy the cover and pulse generator as one unit or does the pulse come on its own. If so how to remove the other bolt as it looks pretty well glued in there. I was thinking of just drilling it out and using resin to glue another bolt in. Does that sound okay?
I also noticed that the nut on the shaft had been cross threaded and was on crooked. Any tips for removing it? Am hoping its just the nut thats stuff and not the shaft too...
