Oil Seal Material

cangus » Wed Mar 09, 2011 5:05 pm

I have placed an order for multiple Honda OEM oil seals but find the one for the countershaft (front sprocket) are not available. So i am ordering on-line. Oils seals available in this size (25x45x7) are nitrile rubber. This is adequate for oil compatibility but the temperature range goes to a high of 100 degrees C. Is this temperature rating adequate?

What are OEM Honda seals made of?

Vitron seals are oil resistant and have a much higher temperature range but i haven't found any yet.
