Well it could actually be the dealers putting that little snippet together to drive up some business and a bit of panic buying. however in light of whats happened in Japan, i do feel dealers are now rushing around to buy up private stock where they can because they know there will be nothing coming out of japan for at least a year or two, and assuming lots of stock wasn't destroyed or ruined.
one things for sure the wave that 250 strokers is riding on may well have peaked, however they are not going to come down either, and with the pound being so knackered most are being snapped up and going to europe where they seem pretty good value for money.
400's (well some anyway) are getting trendy again, and over the last 3 - 4 months there has been a large interest of good quality original NC30's changing hands for big money. Finding them is getting hard, all the junk on ebay means prices of good usable original bikes is climbing and fast.
We all know it's fine putting a price tag of 8K on a used bike, however in the real world unless it sells then whats the point.
Its quite clear the number of bikes left in the uk or at least coming into the UK is going to get less and less, but also its true that £6500 for a Rothmans is the going rate at the moment, even if not all purchased by UK buyers, they are still selling at that price albeit slowly.
