Intermittent power loss - what to check first?

BlueNSR » Thu May 26, 2011 12:18 am

Hi guys,

Today while cruising on the freeway in 5th gear, my MC21 bogged and then lost power completely.
I pulled in the clutch and coasted to the shoulder (luckily.) Ten minutes or so later while waiting for a tow, I kicked it over again and it fired up. Rode the remaining short distance home without incident.

So... where do I start? I don't want to risk ignoring this incident for obvious reasons.

Any tips or advice are very much appreciated!
Thanks

Quick history: Obtained the bike last year at 15k Km. Cleaned carbs, fresh fluids, battery etc. upon purchase- Have put on 3k since then. No issues (until now) since I've owned it. Bike is completely stock except for pipes jetting, daytona filter (and tires). Running oil pump.
