I disconnected the TPS and adjusted it to the mark on the pulley. Next I looked in the barrels to see how far open the power valve was. It was recessed, probably about 0.2-0.3mm. Now, as I am aware, it should not be open fully until the bike is revved up to about 10,000rpm, right?
I noticed when running, it actually goes open further than where I adjusted it to with the TPS disconnected. This can't be good, as when I looked in the exhaust port, it seems that opening it further than the mark punched on the barrel actually closes the port (the flapper tips closed at the end furtherest from the piston, obscuring airflow).
Does anybody follow what I saying?
I suppose what I'll do is adjust it to be fully open at the punch mark when the bike is at 10,000rpm... might find some extra ponies!
