Well got a chance to work on the bike again last night
i opened the shed and phew.. gas smell and a big wet spot under my bike
my tank had drained down to the reserve.
I figured my floats had stuck or something and proceeded to work on the beast.
As of my last session the bike died, and i thought it had fouled both plugs so i decided to go leaner
the next smallest jets i had were 130's (last run at 140's)
so i pulled the tank airbox, carbs etc.. (im getting really fast at it heh)
and put in the 130's
I then went to change my plugs
as i figured the bike died from fouling..
They looked light tan.. lean enough to be concerned i thought...
so then im all confused as to how a bike can go from 145 mains and not even pulling redline to dangerously lean at 140...
i go to put my tank back on and i notice there is a tear in the gas line
So the reason the bike died is cause it stopped getting fuel..
SOOOO im thinking the plugs look so lean cause the bike stopped getting fuel...?
so i clean up the plugs on a wire wheel, carb clean them and throw em back in the bike and go for a quick zip at the 130 mains since they are already in..
Checked the plugs and they were darker tan then At 140.. I only rode for a few miles cause i was scared that it might be too lean.
Not sure where to start now on my next attempt.. throw the 140's back in and start working down or maybe go buy some more jets.. 134 132 ish range...
Also i noticed that my plugs are BR9ES This is not the BR9ECM plugs that are in the specification section. How much difference does this make? Is all of my tunning a waste with these plugs? these plugs are like 2 bucks each VS the BR9ECM's that are like 15 bucks each!!! id much rather buy 6 or 8 of the BR9ES plugs to tune the bike and then just throw in the good ones when im there if possible.. PLEASE ADVISE me pros / cons ??
