If you remove those lines, remember to bleed them before you start the bike. Else the bike could seize. I recommend you don't replace them with anything other than the genuine part as it's too important to mess up. Though replace those **** wire spring clips with something substantial.
I would not use clear hose, it looks **** fast as soon as it gets oil, dirt or solvent on it. Two months later they'll be yellow, not clear!
