So with any new bike, my first task is to strip it down to essentials and clean it as well as perform any needed maintenance.

Here's a snapshot of what I was dealing with:

And for the WTF of the day. The previous owner was kind enough to lube the chain...and the swingarm, sprocket, rim, tire, and exhaust.

It's not easy stripping off gobs of chain grease and grim, but it essentially preserves whatever is underneath it. Well, it turns out under all that crud is a brand new RK chain and sprocket set! Woohoo!

Also the previous owner said it was only Jha cans on the exhaust but it's a full Jha system! Double Woohoo!

The bad news was when I went to check the tranny fluid, it proceeded to overflow onto my shoe. Took my time and added a little sealant around the oil pump seal and good to go! When I took the airbox off I noticed that it already had to HRC X and Y pieces! Triple Woohoo! (I haven't taken the carb apart yet to see if it has the needles too)

I've got some little things to do such as change fork oil, fork seals, change the chain guide, and try to lube all of those cables (Throttle/oil pump cables felt a little sticky...better with lube but might need to be changed). Also need to check out the RC valve adjustment. Don't want to get too crazy before I had a chance to run a track day on it and see if these are improvements.
