MC28 Oil Pump Alignment Marks/Quick Turn Throttle

Dana » Sun Sep 04, 2011 6:31 am

As I've figured out I have a quick turn throttle on the bike, I was curious if this had any impact on the oil pump. There wasn't much info on the matter when I searched (or I was using the wrong search words), but some seemed to think it was OK and others said not OK.

I've experimented and have concluded that running a quick turn shouldn't matter, since the oil pump cable is connected to the carb end (buttery valve for a lack of another name to call it). The throttle cable still moves the same distance as a stock setup would.

Anywho, I've adjusted the oil pump cable so that with 1/2 throttle, the first alignment mark lines up. But should the second mark line up at WFO (wide F-in open)? I plan on going really fast (lmao) and want to make sure I don't grenade it the first time out. Is it better to give it more oil than less for going fast in higher rpms?

Thanks!

Dana
