Knowing the front forks were in desperate need of a rebuild and not touching the carbs at all, I wanted to at least confirm a baseline with my ass dyno and time sheets from the day. This way I would at least know my future changes made the bike better or worse.
For only a 1km course, it sure puts the bike through its paces. With a personal best of a 40.9 on the ZXR250, I was hoping to at least get into the 43's...but was surprised to pull off some low 42's with a best of 42.0 on the NSR.
I was very pleased with the Pirelli SC-1's and I think they made up for some ill responding suspension. It also has a 48tooth rear sprocket, so I was shifting like a madman out there. And because the track is about 1000m higher above sea level than my house, it's going to take some tuning to get her just right.
Also being 188cm tall, I found it difficult on the knees after a 30 minute session. I should have an easier time on the bigger tracks with time to rest in the straights.
Here are two pics of the day...(I'm hoping a friend will finally upload more)
