All the 400's are lardy old things by todays standards. They're all in the 170kg region, which is where the Blade / R1 / GSXR currently reside.

The 400's are definitely easier to ride, due to the wide spread of power compared to the 2 stroke, but they are so much heavier that if you're on the ball you'll be in the powerband and leave the 400 out of each corner anyway.

Bottom line is that they make pretty equal power, but the NSR is 30KG lighter. Top end is dependant on gearing but is theoretically the same, whereas acceleration will always be in the lighter bikes favour.
