Weather is near perfect in the UAE now with winter approaching so set out on a road trip from Dubai to Kalba this morning...6.00am set off and returned 15 minutes ago at 10.30am.
I didn't take enough pictures really but you'll get the idea from the ones below. After about 45 minutes of dead straight highway you come off and head through the twisties into the desert and eventually up into the mountains...its great fun...but boy I never knew how much a two stroke was susceptible to altitude! No power as I started climbing.
I thought I might encounter a problem with the bike as it's the longest journey I've taken on it, but no, the bike ran perfectly throughout.
People say Dubai's roads are boring for biking as they are all straight, but less than an hour out fo the city and you get some wonderful roads.
Starting the climb.
On the other side, heading home. I had so much fun on the way up the mountain I forgot to take any pictures in between!
See that mountain in the background...thats the way home.
Half way up mountain from above picture.
The other side of the tunnel you can see in the 3rd pictured (white area in the centre of the mountain).
Descending the mountain. A fortress of some sort in the background.
