A rule for every engine you do is not to take short cuts and don't be tempted to re-use stuff that looks good but is a consumable.

Gudgeon pin retainer clips, small ends, gaskets and stuff like that.

I worked out that I could have saved about £50 - £100 on tit for tat things on a recent Yam build, things that could but might not definately let go. Being a two stroke, an 'IF' or 'MIGHT' in reliability terms means 'WHEN' and 'WILL'.
